CS2 skin market index

What the CS2 skin market does, day by day: a fixed basket of 500 items, compared every day on the same marketplaces, in dollars. A day we couldn’t measure stays a gap, never a zero.

Last calculated on (00:20 UTC). Latest day: 15 October 2026.

By . Recalculated every 6 hours, on closed UTC days.

30 Sept 2026 to 15 Oct 2026

  • Measured· calculated on the day by the daily run
  • Rebuilt· recalculated afterwards from prices already collected
  • Chained· previous day’s level × the 24-hour change, when reference prices are missing
  • Not measured· not enough reliable data that day: the curve breaks

Left and right arrows move through the days.

A curve point is only published when every reference price in the basket is there that day. The daily and weekly changes allow up to 10% of items to be missing, so they can be measured on a day the curve isn’t. On those days the level is chained.

What’s moving in the basket

The five biggest risers and fallers among the basket’s items, worked out on the same prices and marketplaces as the index.

The basket

500 items, set on 13 October 2026. Sub-indices by category aren’t calculated yet: only the make-up is published.

Method

The basket: up to 500 items, picked from those listed 14 days in a row on at least 3 marketplaces, priced at US$3 or more, and in our catalogue for 180 days. Keys and patterns that differ from one copy to the next (Doppler, Fade, Case Hardened) are left out.

The marketplaces: for each item, the same marketplaces on both dates compared, at least 3, coming from at least 2 separate data sources. A marketplace counts when it shows 20 listings or more on average that day.

Marketplaces in the current basket: C5Game, HaloSkins, LIS-SKINS, market.csgo, White.Market, Waxpeer, YouPin, BUFF163, CSFloat, CS.MONEY, Skinport, DMarket, Mannco.store and SkinBaron.

The price: the listing recorded at the end of the UTC day on each marketplace, converted to dollars at the ECB reference rate (the latest published within 7 days). An item’s price is the median across its marketplaces; the index is the geometric mean of price ratios, every item weighing the same.

Base rate: €0.893815 per $1, published on 13 October 2026.

Calculation version: v1-2026-10-14. A new basket version starts a new curve, not joined to the old one.

Chained level: when reference prices for the curve are missing but the 24-hour change is measured, the published level is the previous day’s level times that change. It only chains onto a published level: if the previous day is missing too, the day stays unmeasured. As soon as a direct level exists, it replaces the chained one.

Rebuilt points, before 13 October 2026, apply the basket chosen that day backwards: an item only got in because it was well listed on that date. A rebuilt point is therefore not worth a point measured on the day.

What the index doesn’t say

  • These are listing prices, not completed sales: an item can stay listed without a buyer.
  • The Steam Market isn’t in the index: it pays in Steam credit, not cash.
  • The basket leaves out recent, cheap and very rare items: the index follows the liquid core of the market, not every item.
  • This isn’t investment advice.

The data

Every published day, measured, rebuilt or not, with the calculation version, calculation time, coverage and the reason for any gap.
