How this guide was made

Fees are the ones Veriloot applies for each marketplace: the published schedule where there is one, otherwise a value we picked and marked “estimate”. The Marketplaces page details them one by one; the documents checked for this guide are at the bottom. Amounts are calculated when you open the page, with the same maths as the fee calculator. Marketplaces we record in dollars go through the recorded exchange rate, dated under the table. We didn’t sell anything to write this guide.

The choice in thirty seconds

Where to sell, depending on the item

An item worth a few cents
On Steam, the minimums weigh heavily: check the last column of the first table before you list it.
You want cash, not credit
Leave Steam out and compare the cash proceeds. Then open your skin’s page to see what it’s actually listed at on each marketplace.
An expensive item
Some schedules change above a threshold. In the table, the rate is lower at €1,000.00 than at €10.00 on Skinport, SkinBaron and CS.MONEY. Run the numbers at your exact price.

Steam doesn’t take 15% of the listed price

Steam adds its fees on top of what the seller gets: 5% for Steam, with a published one-cent minimum, and 10% for the game. Measured against the price the buyer sees, the cut is a bit lower than the two added together. Valve publishes no minimum for the game’s share; Veriloot’s maths applies one cent there too, which is what pushes the cut up on items worth a few cents.

Veriloot’s maths: fees added on top of the seller’s amount, one-cent minimum on each share (published for Steam, applied by us to the game’s share).

That money lands as Steam credit. Steam’s Subscriber Agreement says it plainly: Steam Wallet funds have no cash value and can’t be exchanged for cash. You spend them on Steam.

Every other marketplace, at the same listed price

The table applies each schedule to the same listed price, sorted by what’s left at €100.00. In practice the same skin isn’t listed at the same price everywhere, so a lower fee doesn’t guarantee a better sale. The fee calculator runs this on your own amount.

What’s left after the seller fee, in cash, for the same listed price.Dollar amounts converted at the ECB rate of 30 September 2026 (€0.8807 per $1).

DMarket says its fee varies with the item’s liquidity, per its fee page as we last read it on 21 September 2026. Tradeit’s terms state a commission “between 0 and 30%” on each exchange or purchase, without saying what it depends on. For those two, the amount is an estimate, with the rate used written under the range.

What the seller fee leaves out

Withdrawing to your bank, card or a crypto wallet can carry its own cost, depending on the method. CSFloat, for one, listed 0.5% to 2.5% by sales volume in August 2021. Those costs aren’t in the tables: not every marketplace publishes them, and not in the same way.

A listed price isn’t a sale. Until a buyer pays, the proceeds are a calculation, not money received.

In the rankings: recent price increases and reselling on Steam to get wallet balance for less.

These are listed prices, not sales: an amount can change between our check and your visit. How Veriloot calculates these amounts

Market figures, from the price drop to sales volumes and resale fees, are gathered in our CS2 skin market statistics 2026.
