Steam wallet ratio

The catches

• An item received in a trade cannot be sold on Steam for 7 days (Steam FAQ, read on 29 Sept 2026).
• During those 7 days, the seller can reverse the trade and take the item back.
• The Steam price can drop while you wait: the ratio in the table is not guaranteed when you sell.
• A listing at the price used may not sell right away. The price used is the lower of the Steam listing and the median sale of the last 24 hours.
• Steam balance cannot be withdrawn: it only buys things on Steam (Steam Subscriber Agreement, read on 29 Sept 2026).
• Buyer fees: counted when the marketplace publishes them. Elsewhere the row says “not measured”, and the real cost may be higher.

Steam gift cards, reading of 29 Sept 2026: no euro card was sold more than 2.75% below face value before payment fees, and several cost more than face value, so they do not save money on a euro account.

Method

Buy: the cheapest listing outside Steam, with at least 5 listings and 2 other marketplaces listing the same item. Sell: the lower of the Steam listing and the median Steam sale of the last 24 hours. Net: what Steam pays the seller after its fees (5% Steam and 10% CS2, at least one cent each, Steam’s fee schedule).

Only items sold at least 50 times in 24 hours on Steam, resold for at least €1.00, and whose Steam listing stays within 25% of the median sale are listed. Steam prices in euros are converted from dollars by our data source.

Selling rather than buying: what you keep once the fee is taken.
