CSFloat vs Skinport: where to sell, where to buy the same skin

How this guide was made
This guide rests on two things: the fee schedules both marketplaces publish, checked on 26 September 2026 (links at the bottom), and the prices Veriloot records on both sites for 10 skins we picked. Those prices load when you open the page, each with the time it was recorded. We didn’t buy or sell anything to write this. We compare what the sites list.
The choice in thirty seconds
Which one fits what you’re doing
- You’re selling and want to keep as much as possible
- At the same price, the fee is 2% on CSFloat and 8% on Skinport. Check first that your skin lists at a similar price on both: the skin’s page compares them.
- You’re selling an item worth €1,000 or more
- Skinport’s fee drops to 6%. The gap with CSFloat narrows, and the exchange rate or withdrawal cost can matter as much as the fee.
- You think in euros
- Skinport shows its prices in euros; right now we read them through SteamDataAPI, converted from US dollars. CSFloat is recorded in dollars. Check which currency your balance is in on the site before selling.
- You’re buying
- Neither wins every time. Open the skin’s page for its wear: both are compared there with every other tracked marketplace.
Selling: the fee does most of the work
CSFloat keeps 2% of the sale price, per the schedule it announced in August 2021, the most recent one we found. Skinport keeps 8% on a public listing and 6% once the item is worth €1,000 or more, according to its fee page updated on 29 August 2025.
What you keep on €100.00 listed
| Listed price | CSFloatCSFloat | SkinportSkinport |
|---|---|---|
| €10.00 | ≈ €9.80converted you keep most | €9.20 |
| €100.00 | ≈ €97.99converted you keep most | €92.00 |
| €1,000.00 | ≈ €980.00converted you keep most | €940.00 |
The table applies both schedules to the same listed price. That assumes the item sells at that price on both sites, which isn’t guaranteed: a higher price on one can make up for a bigger fee.
Two currencies in our data
Skinport shows its prices in euros, but right now we read them through SteamDataAPI, converted from US dollars: in the buying table, those prices are marked “Converted by SteamDataAPI”. CSFloat is recorded in dollars. For CSFloat, the calculation converts your price to dollars, takes the fee in dollars, then brings the proceeds back to euros, so the exact amount moves with the exchange rate. Those amounts are marked “converted”.
Withdrawals aren’t included here: what a withdrawal costs is covered in the selling guide.
Buying: the cheaper site changes from skin to skin
The table compares each site’s lowest listing for 10 skins we picked, Field-Tested, base version. It loads when you open the page, and each skin links to its own page, where every tracked marketplace is compared.

Across 10 skins listed on both, CSFloat is cheaper on 9 and Skinport on none, with one tie.
Two caveats. The lowest listing is one item among many: its float, pattern or stickers can explain a gap. And the number of listings differs between the two; it’s shown under each price.
In the rankings: price gaps between marketplaces, skin by skin and the cheapest marketplace for each knife model.
These are listed prices, not sales: an amount can change between our check and your visit. How Veriloot calculates these amounts
