CS2 price gap index

The same skin in the same wear doesn’t cost the same on every marketplace. This page measures by how much, across the whole catalogue Veriloot tracks, with the time of calculation and the method.

Calculated on , Paris time (02:22 UTC). Recalculated at most every 60 minutes: always quote the figure with its date.

By

On 1 October 2026 at 02:22 UTC, across 4,812 CS2 skins listed on at least 4 marketplaces, the median gap between the cheapest and the most expensive listing of the same skin was 16.8%, according to Veriloot. On the Steam Community Market, the same skin cost a median 43.9% more than the cheapest listing on marketplaces that pay out withdrawable cash (4,368 skins compared).

How the gaps are spread

A quarter of skins have a gap below the first quartile, a quarter above the third. Past the 9th decile sit the top 10% of skins: that is where the ranking’s biggest gaps come from.

Steam against cash marketplaces

Steam pays sellers in credit that can’t be withdrawn. We compare the Steam price, Steam fees included, with the cheapest listing of the same skin on cash marketplaces: Steam price divided by the lowest cash price, minus one.

Which marketplace has the cheapest listing?

For each skin counted, the marketplace showing the cheapest listing. Two marketplaces at the same price count for half each.

Read with care: this split depends on which marketplaces are present and how fresh their quotes are at calculation time. It moves more than the median from one calculation to the next, and it doesn’t tell you where to buy a given skin.

Method

We measure the skins the price gap ranking can include, under its rules, across the whole catalogue: skins with a wear, StatTrak™ and Souvenir included (no stickers, agents, cases or knives without a finish). A skin counts if at least 4 marketplaces that pay out withdrawable cash list it, each with at least 5 listings, known seller proceeds and a quote that is neither stale nor off-market, and if its lowest price reaches €10.00. An end price more than 35% away from its neighbour counts as isolated, and the skin is dropped. Case Hardened, Doppler and Fade are excluded, because each marketplace lists a different pattern or phase. A skin’s gap is its highest price divided by its lowest, minus one, in buyer listing prices, before seller fees. A skin listed at the same price everywhere has no gap in the ranking’s sense and is not counted.

Calculations are done in euros: dollar prices are converted at the ECB reference rate of 29 September 2026, $1 = €0.880669.

Left out because seller proceeds aren’t known: LIS-SKINS, CS.TRADE, BUFF163, C5Game, YouPin and Mannco.store. We don’t know what a seller receives there, so the ranking doesn’t count them, even when they show the lowest price.

Limits

  • These are listing prices, not completed sales. A gap is not a profit: fees, trade holds and float are not counted.
  • Steam publishes no listing count in our quotes, so the 5-listing rule can’t apply to it. A Steam quote can be up to 24 hours old; its median and maximum age are shown above. Our Steam prices come through SteamDataAPI, where we measured an exchange-rate bias of about +1.22% on 20 September 2026: don’t read the premium to the decimal.
  • This is a snapshot of one moment. The page keeps no history: we don’t know whether these figures are stable over time.
